Type species: ¤ Siphonobacter aquaeclarae Táncsics et al. 2010.
Etymology: Gr. n. siphô –ônos, tube, pipe; N.L. masc. n. bacter, rod; N.L. masc. n. Siphonobacter, rod-shaped bacterium from a pipeline, referring to the source of isolation of the type strain of the type species.
