Type species: ¤ Spinactinospora alkalitolerans Chang et al. 2011.
Etymology: L. n. spina, spine; Gr. n. actis actinos, a ray; Gr. n. spora, a seed and in biology a spore; N.L. fem. n. Spinactinospora, an actinomycete with spiny spores.
