Succinivibrionaceae Hippe et al. 1999, fam. nov.
Type genus: ¤ Succinivibrio Bryant and Small 1956 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: N.L. masc. n. Succinivibrio, type genus of the family; L. suff. -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Succinivibrionaceae, the Succinivibrio family.
