Thermohydrogenium Zacharova et al. 1996, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Thermohydrogenium kirishiense Zacharova et al. 1996.
Etymology: Not given in the paper by Zacharova et al. 1996. The etymology seems to be the following: Gr. adj. thermos, hot; N.L. neut. n. hydrogenium, hydogen; N.L. neut. n. Thermohydrogenium, a thermophilic bacterium producing hydrogen.

Thermohydrogenium kirishiense Zacharova et al. 1996, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus).
Type strain (see also StrainInfo.net): strain ZE-7 (strain deposited in the collection of the Department of Microbiology, Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia) = DSM 11055.
GenBank/EMBL/DDBJ accession number for the 16S rRNA gene sequence of the type strain: FR749963 (type strain DSM 11055, clone 1), FR749964 (type strain DSM 11055, clone 2), FR749965 (type strain DSM 11055, clone 3).
Etymology: Not given in the paper by Zacharova et al. 1996. The etymology seems to be the following: N.L. neut. adj. kirishiense, of or belonging to Kirishi.
