Type species: ¤ Wohlfahrtiimonas chitiniclastica Tóth et al. 2008.
Etymology: N.L. n. Wohlfahrtia, the generic name of a sarcophagid fly; Gr. fem. n. monas, a unit, monad; N.L. fem. n. Wohlfahrtiimonas, a monad from a fly of the genus Wohlfahrtia.
